PAINT YOUR PET IN WATERCOLOUR

If you like animals and painting then join me at the Watershed Studio for an exciting workshop, devoted solely to painting your pets. We'll cover drawing, of course, as a good drawing is the beginning of a good painting.
I'll also show you how to apply watercolour in a bold, loose technique, which will free you from the 'it looks just like a photograph' school of painting. Obviously we will be using photos as reference, but that doesn't mean we have to copy them line for line. We will paint them in a loose style, which captures their individual personality. So, feel free to bring along a bunch of photos of your pet or pets. I'll also have reference to work from.
We'll also cover 'backgrounds'. It can be tempting to leave this bit until the last 5 minutes. However, if you want to include a background you have to think it through from the beginning, if it's to look convincing.
I'll also show you how to mix colours, often on the page itself, without resulting in a muddy mess! I have 12 colours in my palette (you can see it on my home page) and, often, I might only use 4 - 6 in a single painting. You'll notice there are no greens in it, as I prefer to mix them from scratch.
I'll have copies of my 'Animal Painting Workbook' to hand, if you would like to purchase a signed copy.
